Friedrich Wilhelm Otto Modersohn, born in 1865, was a German landscape painter and the co-founder of the Worpswede Art Colony. His extraordinarily extensive oeuvre that has it’s roots in the 19th century and the French landscape painting, is subdivided into his early, main and late work.
