  2. Parnham House is a Grade I listed stately home. The Strode family took possession of Parnham in the mid-1500s, when Richard Strode married Elizabeth Gerard, whose ancestor built the first house on the site in about 1400. The oldest parts of the present house date from the 16th century and it was the Strode family home for 200 years.

  3. Parnham has a wealth of history behind it and 133 acres of parkland and gardens. The grounds were landscaped by Inigo Thomas and are Grade ll listed on the Register of Historic Parks & Gardens. The grounds include a lake, deer park, river, waterfall, landscaped lawns, gazebos, sculptures, a walled kitchen garden, fountains, a 1km lime tree-lined drive, and a river running through it.

The historic listed building was badly damaged in a devastating blaze in 2017 and since then has been slowly rebuilt with plans for new holiday accommodation in the grounds recently approved.
