Patricia Edwina Victoria Knatchbull, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma was a British peeress and the third cousin of Queen Elizabeth II. She was the elder daughter of Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma and his wife, the heiress Edwina Ashley, a patrilineal descendant of the Earls of Shaftesbury, first ennobled in 1661.

She was the elder daughter of Admiral of the Fleet The 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma and his wife, the heiress Edwina Ashley , a patrilineal descendant of the Earls of Shaftesbury , first ennobled in 1661.
Countess Mountbatten of Burma. Lady Patricia was born in London, England on 14 February 1924, the daughter of Lord Louis Mountbatten and Edwina Ashley and the elder sister of Lady Pamela Hicks. She is a third cousin to Queen Elizabeth II, first cousin to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and Godmother to Prince Charles, Prince of Wales.
Succeeded upon the death of her father (under special remainder) as 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma, 2nd Viscountess Mountbatten of Burma and 2nd Baroness Romsey on 27th August 1979. Died 13th June 2017 at Newhouse, Mersham, Ashford, Kent.
