Philip John Algernon Sidney, 2nd Viscount De L'Isle, CVO, MBE, DL (born 21 April 1945), is a British peer and former soldier. Life and career [ edit ] Lord De L'Isle is the only son of William Sidney, 1st Viscount De L'Isle , and his wife Jacqueline (née Vereker), a daughter of Field Marshal John Vereker, 6th Viscount Gort .
She was married to Philip Sidney, 1st Baron De L'Isle and Dudley, and had four surviving children. Shortly before her death in 1837, she served as State Housekeeper in Kensington Palace. Sophia Sidney, Baroness De L'Isle and Dudley was the eldest illegitimate daughter of William IV of the United Kingdom and his longtime mistress Dorothea Jordan.
Philip Charles Shelley Sidney, 1st Baron De L'Isle and Dudley GCH (11 March 1800 – 4 March 1851) was a British Tory politician. Sidney was the only son of Sir John Shelley-Sidney, 1st Baronet and Henrietta Hunloke. The poet Percy Bysshe Shelley was his cousin. He was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford.

He married, firstly, Mary Foulis, daughter of Sir William Foulis of Ingleby, 8th Bt. and Mary Jane Ross, on 23 April 1850.
