Pierre de Rigaud de Vaudreuil de Cavagnial, marquis de Vaudreuil (22 November 1698 – 4 August 1778) was a Canadian-born colonial governor of French Canada in North America. He was governor of French Louisiana (1743–1753) and in 1755 became the last Governor-General of New France.

Pierre de Rigaud, Marquis de Vaudreuil, was obviously a highly strung, complex person who bottled up his emotions and let no one around him suspect his inner turmoil. His crise de nerfs of 1756 when he sought to be recalled, even though it would have terminated his career, is proof.

Pierre de Rigaud de Vaudreuil de Cavagnial, marqués de Vaudreuil(22 de noviembre de 1698 - 4 de agosto de 1778 [1]) fue un gobernador colonial nacido en Canadá del Canadá francésen América del Norte. Fue gobernador de la Luisiana francesa(1743-1753) y en 1755 se convirtió en el último gobernador general de Nueva Francia.
Pierre de Rigaud Vaudreuil-Cavagnal, marquis de (pyĕr də rēgō´ märkē´ də vōdrö´yə-kävänyäl´), 1698–1765, last French governor of New France, b. Quebec. He was the son of Philippe de Rigaud, marquis de Vaudreuil (1643–1725), also governor (1705–25). After entering the army he became governor of Trois Rivières (1733) and of Louisiana (1742).
