Pierre-Auguste Renoir nasceu em Limoges, Haute-Vienne, França, em 1841. Seu pai, Léonard Renoir, era um alfaiate de meios modestos, então, em 1844, a família de Renoir mudou-se para Paris em busca de perspectivas mais favoráveis.
