  3. Poems is a collection of 31 poems written by the German author Hermann Hesse between 1899 and 1921. They were selected and translated to English by James Wright in 1970 from Die Gedichte, which was published in German in 1953. This collection was first published in 1971.

  5. 1 de ene. de 2001 · By this I mean Borge’s short stories feel like condensed novels and Hesse’s poems, at least in this collection, feel like condensed short stories. I’ve yet to read anything of Hesse’s I dislike and the poems while not always novel, unique or new, continue to depict the interests and insights of a man concerned with both the concepts of a life well lived and a life well explored.
