Fundado por Benedicto XV en 1917, 2 el Pontificio Instituto Oriental tiene dos facultades distintas: Facultad de estudios eclesiásticos orientales (con las secciones histórica, teológico-patrística y litúrgica); Facultad de Derecho Canónico oriental (para el estudio del derecho canónico de las iglesias orientales).

15 de feb. de 2021 · Otra realidad es el Pontificio Instituto Oriental que forma, a través de la Facultad de Derecho Canónico y la de Ciencias Eclesiásticas Orientales, a muchos futuros pastores de las Iglesias católicas orientales del mundo. Para esto último se destina un millón de euros del presupuesto anual.
18 de mar. de 2024 · El Pontificio Instituto Bíblico se fundó en 1909 como centro de altos estudios de la Sagrada Escritura. El Pontificio Instituto Oriental, creado en 1917, se ocupa, en cambio, de estudios superiores de ciencias eclesiásticas y derecho canónico de las Iglesias orientales.
