    The college became Port Arthur Collegiate Institute in 1911, when the school was presented to the Board of Education of the Methodist Episcopal Church North, a forerunner of the present United Methodist Temple.

Otto, general contractor, this structure was built in 1909 with classrooms being added in 1925, 1954, and a new gymnasium in 1972. The original design has medieval and Flemish architectural features and was built of Simpson Island stone.
