  2. Adalbert Ferdinand Berengar Viktor was born in the Marmorpalais, Potsdam, on 14 July 1884 and was the third son of Wilhelm II, German Emperor, and Augusta Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein. Adalbert’s first name was chosen in honour of Heinrich Wilhelm Adalbert of Prussia who was the founder of the Prussian Navy and young Adalbert was destined to follow in his footsteps.

  5. Prince Wilhelm Victor was a grandson of Emperor Wilhelm II and the youngest child of Prince Adalbert of Prussia (1884–1948) [1] and Princess Adelheid "Adi" of Saxe-Meiningen (1891–1971). His father, Prince Adalbert carried also the title "Graf Lingen". He forfeited his rights of succession as a result of his unequal marriage.
