After their death, legally the deceased monarch (abdicated or not) has no titles. However, after death, the abdicated monarch is traditionally referred to as king or queen again.

Hace 2 días · Willem-Alexander, king of the Netherlands is the king of the Netherlands from 2013. Willem-Alexander was the son of then Princess Beatrix and Prince Claus. First in the line of succession since his mother’s accession to the throne on April 30, 1980, he also bore the title of prince of Orange.

Having a stronger country on France's northern border was considered (especially by Tsar Alexander ) to be an important part of the strategy to keep France's power in check.

2 de may. de 2024 · After the wedding a reception with lunch took place at the Palace on the Dam Square. Prince Claus of the Netherlands didn’t attend it anymore and left. Queen Beatrix gave a speech also on his behalf, in which she praised the parents of Princess Máxima for the values they have given her and for her excellent upbringing.
