Karl Anton Joachim Zephyrinus Friedrich Meinrad von Hohenzollern (* 7. September 1811 in Krauchenwies; [1] † 2. Juni 1885 in Sigmaringen) war vom 27. August 1848 bis zum 7. Dezember 1849 letzter regierender Fürst von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen vor dessen Eingliederung in Preußen.

24 de feb. de 2024 · Karl Anton's elder brothers were William, Prince of Hohenzollern and Ferdinand I of Romania. Marriage and issue On 28 May 1894 in Brussels , Karl Anton married his cousin Princess Joséphine Caroline of Belgium ( Brussels 18 October 1872 - Namur 6 January 1958), daughter of Prince Philippe, Count of Flanders and his wife Princess Marie of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen .
This so-called "Hohenzollern candidacy" for the Spanish throne was one of the main factors in instigating the Franco-Prussian War. Prince Karl Anton was married to Josephine Friederike Luise, Princess of Baden (1813–1900), daughter of Grand Duke Charles of Baden. They had six children. Karl Anton died on 2 June 1885, aged 73, in Berlin.
