Karl Ludwig, 3rd Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (10 September 1762 in Langenburg – 4 April 1825 in Langenburg) was the third Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. He was the first child of Prince Christian Albert of Hohenlohe-Langenburg and his wife, Princess Caroline of Stolberg-Gedern .
Karl Ludwig is generally regarded as an insipid and colourless representative of the Habsburg dynasty. In itself, his biography would be of little interest were it not for the fact that he became the progenitor of what was to become the main line of the dynasty, as Emperor Franz Joseph had no direct surviving male descendant.

Archduke Karl Ludwig was born in Florence on 5 September 1771. He was the fifth of the sixteen children born to the prolific union of Archduke Peter Leopold, Grand Duke of Tuscany (later Emperor Leopold II) and Maria Luisa of Naples and Sicily from the Bourbon dynasty.
