Upon her death, Württemberg inhabitants gave her name to many roads and places in Stuttgart, Esslingen, and Friolzheim. Issue. Catherine (1821–1898); married Prince Frederick of Württemberg and was mother to William II of Württemberg. Charles I of Württemberg (1823–1891); married Olga Nikolaevna of Russia and had no issue.
Carl was born in Friedrichshafen on 1 August 1936. [1] He was the second son of Philipp Albrecht, Duke of Württemberg (1893–1975), and Archduchess Rosa of Austria, Princess of Tuscany (1906–1983). [2] He was educated at the classical grammar school in Riedlingen and the University of Tübingen, where he studied law.
In 1865 Philip of Württemberg married Archduchess Maria Theresa of Austria, daughter of Archduke Albert, Duke of Teschen and Princess Hildegard of Bavaria. They had five children: [1] Albrecht, Duke of Württemberg (23 December 1865 – 31 October 1939) he married Archduchess Margarete Sophie of Austria on 24 January 1893. They had seven children.

Albrecht, Duke and Crown Prince of Württemberg (Albrecht Maria Alexander Philipp Joseph; 23 December 1865 – 31 October 1939) was the last heir presumptive to the Kingdom of Württemberg, a German military commander of World War I, and the head of the House of Württemberg from 1921 to his death.
On 20 November 1845, Catherine married her first cousin, Prince Frederick of Württemberg. He was a son of Prince Paul of Württemberg and Princess Charlotte of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The marriage was meant to strengthen ties between the main branch of the Württemberg family and the next possible heir to the throne.
