Leopoldine var den fjärde och yngsta dottern till prins William av Baden (1792-1859) och hertiginnan Elisabeth Alexandrine av Württemberg (1802-1864), dotter till hertig Ludvig av Württemberg. Hennes farföräldrar var Charles Fredrik av Baden , den förste storhertigen av Baden, och hans andra fru, friherrinnan Louise Caroline Geyer av Geyersberg, grevinnan av Hochberg .
Princess Pauline Sophie Elisabeth Marie (December 18, 1835 – May 15, 1891). Princess Leopoldine Wilhelmine Pauline Amalie Maximiliane (February 22, 1837 – December 23, 1903), married Hermann VI, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg on September 24, 1862. Death. William died on 11 October 1859. Elisabeth would die five years later, on 5 December 1864.

Princess Elise Victoria Feodora Sophie Adelheid of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1864-1929); married in 1884 Heinrich XXVII, Prince Reuss Younger Line (1858-1928), had issue. Princess Feodora of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1866-1932); married in 1894 Emich, 5th Prince of Leiningen (1866-1939), had issue. Princess Leopoldine founded the Leopoldine Association.
