  1. The Princess Louise Hall was built in the 1970s as a community hall for the area. In the 1980s, the Howie Sports Pavilion was added on. The hall commemorates Princess Louise, a daughter of Queen Victoria who was a most interesting and spirited woman, who loved the area and its people and who did much to support both.

  4. Princess Louise was born on 18 March 1848 at Buckingham Palace, she was the fourth daughter and sixth child of Queen Victoria and Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha the Prince Consort. She was baptised with the names Louisa Caroline Alberta, Louisa was in honour of her paternal grandmother, the Prince Consort's mother, Princess Louise of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (1800-1831).
