Louise’s marriage to the Marquess of Lorne was arranged by her mother in an attempt to bring her free-spirited daughter into line. Although arranged, and despite Lorne’s probable homosexuality, the marriage was initially happy, but by the 1880s the couple were spending increasing amounts of time living separate lives, and Louise was devoting more time to her art.
18 de mar. de 2019 · Princess Louise, who was beloved by Elizabeth and Margaret, died at the age of 91 on 3 December 1939 after years of ill health. After a simple funeral, her remains were cremated and placed in the Royal Crypt at St George’s Chapel. They were later moved to the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore.
