    Princess Mar­garita was born on 18 April 1905 at the Royal Palace in Athens. She was the sis­ter of Prince Philip of Greece and Den­mark, the con­sort of Eliz­a­beth II. She also had three sis­ters: Theodora, Mar­gravine of Baden; Ce­cilie, Hered­i­tary Grand Duchess of Hesse and by Rhine; and So­phie, later Princess George of Hanover.
