Princess Patricia died on 12th January 1974 and was buried with her husband at Frogmore in the grounds of Windsor Castle. You are surrounded by history at the Abbey, not like a museum where it’s just displayed, but here you are standing where history has happened. 27 de feb. de 2020 · When Princess Patricia of Connaught, granddaughter of Queen Victoria, wed Alexander Ramsay in London in 1919, she more than made her mark. For not only had Patricia wed a man with no royal title.
She was named Victoria after Queen Victoria, and Patricia, the Saint of her birth. Informally, she was known as Patsy. She resided in Canada with her father, the Duke of Connaught, during his term as Governor General from 1912 to 1916. During the illness of the Duchess of Connaught, Princess Patricia acted as hostess at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, ON.
Two hamlets in Alberta, 10 kilometres apart, are named Princess and Patricia in honour of Princess Patricia. The hamlets were established and named in 1914. 27 de feb. de 2019 · Princess Patricia of Connaught had it all. She was beautiful, intelligent, athletic and artistic. She could have played the traditional role of a princess: dutifully marrying a prince or king in a match acceptable to both families; living a grand, rule-bound life in palaces and castles; and navigating the tumultuous political waves that were soon to crash over most of her relatives in Europe.
