Princess Victoria Patricia Helena Elizabeth of Connaught VA CI GCStJ, later Lady Patricia Ramsay, (17 March 1886 – 12 January 1974) was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Upon her marriage to Alexander Ramsay, she relinquished her title of a British princess and the style of Royal Highness.

Princess Patricia of Connaught was born on March 17, 1886 to Prince Arthur Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, and Princess Louis Margaret of Prussia. Like other military children, she spent her childhood moving from station to station. When she was twenty-five, her father was appointed Governor General of Canada.
The Regiment bears the name of HRH Princess Patricia of Connaught, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Her father, HRH Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, was Governor-General of Canada from 1911 to 1916 and a personal friend of Alberta’s Senator James Alexander Lougheed.
