English intertitles. Queen Kelly is an American silent film produced in 1928–29 and released by United Artists. The film was directed by Erich von Stroheim, starred Gloria Swanson, in the title role, Walter Byron as her lover, and Seena Owen. The film was produced by Joseph P. Kennedy, who was Swanson's lover at the time.
Queen Kelly: Directed by Erich von Stroheim, Richard Boleslawski. With Gloria Swanson, Walter Byron, Seena Owen, Sylvia Ashton. A convent girl is abducted and seduced by a prince before being sent off to a brothel in East Africa.

27 de ago. de 2007 · Whether the complete Queen Kelly as envisaged by Stroheim would have been his great masterpiece is difficult to ascertain. Certainly the extremely melodramatic nature of the material may have alienated audiences, let alone its darkly cynical view of the world and human nature.
