I have a red oak tree about 1.8m in height and would like to pollard it. I heard that pollarding should be started when the tree is younger but not sure exactly how to do it, or if that’s correct advice. The oak tree is literally a long stem and only has 2 side branches. It’s going dormant now in Melbourne winter.
