Der Reichstag trat erstmals am 24. Juni 1920 zusammen. Er übernahm seine Tätigkeit von der Weimarer Nationalversammlung, die vom Februar 1919 bis zum Mai 1920 als Parlament gedient hatte. Der Reichstag tagte bis 1933 im Berliner Reichstagsgebäude (von da in der Krolloper) und wurde nach einem Verhältniswahlrecht gewählt.

The Constitution of the German Reich (German: Die Verfassung des Deutschen Reichs), usually known as the Weimar Constitution (Weimarer Verfassung), was the constitution that governed Germany during the Weimar Republic era (1919–1933).
