Eliza Courtney and Robert Ellice had at least four children. Robert. Eliza's son Robert was born on 1 January 1816. In March 1853, he married Eglantine Charlotte Louisa Balfour (died 18 April 1907), third daughter of Lieutenant-General Robert Balfour, 6th of Balbirnie. Robert Ellice died on 19 December 1858.

Robert Ellice died before 1661, and was succeeded by his son PETER ELLICE (died 1719), who became a J.P. and deputy-steward of Bromfield and Yale. Extensive rebuilding forced him to mortgage the estate bit by bit, until by 1750 it had passed into the hands of the mortgagees.

Robert Gordon Ellice-Flint, who has died at 90, was in the 8th Division 2nd AIF, which surrendered to the Japanese Imperial Force in February 1942 and was imprisoned at Sandakan. After some soldiers were caught trying to tunnel out, the Japanese removed Australian officers, including Lieutenant Ellice-Flint, to another camp, Kuching, to deny the spirited soldiers their leadership.
