All storylines shared in this work belong to Yankunytjatjara Country and have been kept strong by countless generations of Elders and Ancestors who have nurtured and lived them through their knowledge, culture, and language.
Robert Fielding creates works that retell overlooked or forgotten stories to create a stronger future. His works often feature abandoned cars that have been recreated using paint and light, influenced by a long road connecting to the artist’s home in Mimili Community, littered with mutuka katalypa (car wrecks).

Robert Fielding is a contemporary artist of Pakistani, Afghan, Western Arrente and Yankunytjatjara descent, who lives in Mimili Community in the remote Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands. Fielding won the work on paper category at the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Awards in 2015 and 2017.
