He was arrested in 1483 by order of Richard, Duke of Gloucester, charged with high treason, and beheaded. (fn. 54) His grandson George Hastings was created Earl of Huntingdon in 1529, (fn. 55) and in 1540 a presentation was made to the church by John Osburne, clerk, by the earl's grant.
