Alexander Stewart, Duke of Albany (c. 1454 – 7 August 1485), was a Scottish prince and the second surviving son of King James II of Scotland. He fell out with his older brother, King James III , and fled to France, where he unsuccessfully sought help.

In 1398 Robert was created duke of Albany, a title which reflected his ambitions. Albany's guardianship was characterized by intermittent hostility towards England, consistent support (until 1418) of the antipope Benedict XIII, a growing commitment to the French alliance, and a ruthless elimination of political opponents.
