Robert Francis Vaughn, Ph.D. (November 22, 1932 – November 11, 2016) was an American actor noted for stage, film and television work. He was, perhaps, best known as suave spy Napoleon Solo in the 1960s television series, "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," and as Albert Stroller in the BBC One series, "Hustle."

Robert Vaughn. Robert Francis Vaughn ( New York, 22 november 1932 - Ridgefield (Connecticut), 11 november 2016) was een Amerikaans acteur, die meer dan 200 film- en tv-rollen vertolkte. Vaughn was sinds het midden van de jaren vijftig actief. Zijn werk als regisseur bleef beperkt tot twee afleveringen van televisieseries.

His father was a radio actor, his mother performed on Broadway and his grandparents acted in theater. His parents divorced when he was only 6 months old, however, and he was sent to live with his grandparents in Minneapolis, where he said his childhood was miserable.
Robert Vaughn also worked for the British television. He starred in series The Protectors (1972-1974). Vaughn played the role of Harry Rule for 52 episodes of the series. In 1986, he was hired to play the role of General Hunt Stockwell, in The A-Team, with George Peppard.
