When Robert de Brus 6th Lord of Annandale was born in July 1243, in Writtle, Essex, England, his father, Robert Bruce V, 5th Baron of Annandale, was 19 and his mother, Isabel de Clare, was 16. He married Lady Marjorie de Carrick 3rd Countess of Carrick in 1271, in Turnberry, Ayrshire, Scotland.

Robert Bruce, 6th Lord of Annandale and Earl of Carrick lived from July 1243 to March 1304. He is also known as Sir Robert de Brus and Robert de Bruce, and is remembered primarily as the father of a King of Scotland, Robert the Bruce, and of a King of Ireland, Edward Bruce.

26 de may. de 2019 · His father, Robert de Brus, was the 6th Lord of Annandale and a great-great-grandson of King David mac Mail Choluim, or David I of Scotland. His mother, Marjorie, was the Countess of Carrick, descended from the Irish King Brian Boru.
Robert de Brus, 1st Lord of Annandale, the first of the Bruce (de Brus) line, had settled in Scotland during the reign of King David I, and was granted the Lordship of Annandale in 1124. The future king was one of ten children, and the eldest son, of Robert de Brus, 6th Lord of Annandale , and Marjorie, Countess of Carrick .
