The annals of Newenham Abbey recorded that ‘the king and his husband’ fled to Wales, where they were captured soon after.

Roger Mortimer, 4th earl of March, is apparently recognized by Richard as heir in the parliament of 1386, but this comes in the middle of a political crisis for Richard.
