Sarah Bush Lincoln (December 13, 1788 – April 12, 1869) was the second wife of Thomas Lincoln and stepmother of Abraham Lincoln. She was born in Kentucky to Christopher and Hannah Bush. She married her first husband, Daniel Johnston, in 1806, and they had three children.

Sarah Bush Lincoln Biography. stepmother of Abraham Lincoln. Born: 12/13/1788. Birthplace: Hardin County, Ky. Sarah Bush grew up in Elizabethtown, Ky., one of nine children of Christopher and Hanna Bush. In 1806 she married Daniel Johnston, who was later appointed jailer of Hardin County.

In July of 2019, Sarah Bush Lincoln purchased Heartland Health System, Inc. This involved operational ownership of the hospital and long term care. In 2022, the Fayette County Hospital District Board unanimously voted at its meeting on February 28, 2022 in favor of transferring full ownership of the hospital to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
