Lyova (Lev) Sedov, the son of Leon Trotsky and his second wife, Natalia Sedova, was born in St Finland in 1906. His father was in prison at the time of his birth was in Siberia for his role in the 1905 Russian Revolution. Trotsky escaped later that year and the family moved to Austria. Another son, Sergei Sedov, was born on 21st March, 1908.

Sergei Lvovich Sedov (1908 — 1937) foi o filho mais novo de Leon Trotsky com sua segunda esposa, Natália Sedova. Ele teria sido morto no Grande Expurgo. Sedov foi um engenheiro em Moscou, que publicou trabalhos sobre termodinâmica e motores a diesel. Tornou-se professor no ainda na casa dos vinte anos.
Natalia and Trotsky married in 1903. They had two children together, Lev Sedov (24 February 1906 – 16 February 1938) and Sergei Sedov (21 March 1908 – 29 October 1937), both of whom would predecease their parents.
