Sir Edward Knatchbull, 9th Baronet, PC, FRS (20 December 1781 – 24 May 1849) was a British Tory politician. He held office under Sir Robert Peel as Paymaster of the Forces between 1834 and 1835 and as Paymaster General between 1841 and 1845. Background and education.
Biography. Imbued with the principles and prejudices of a Tory country gentleman, of which he was a typical specimen, Knatchbull was eventually forced by his stubborn commitment to the Protestant constitution and the agricultural interest into direct opposition to the government of Robert Peel* and the duke of Wellington.

Biography. Sir Edward Knatchbull was a member of the aristocracy in England. He was baptized at St George's Hanover Square, Middlesex, England on the 19th of January 1782. In the PR entry for the baptism (available on Ancestry) his birth seems to be given as 20 November 1781.
