Hope End Mansion, Ledbury, Herefordshire, which was built in 1872, was destroyed by fire on Saturday, damage estimated at about £40,000 being done. Many valuables were removed into safety, but the family jewels were destroyed, as were some beautiful doors inlaid with mother of pearl.
Hace 4 días · The constituency corresponds to the former City of Durham local government district and as such includes a number of surrounding villages and suburbs as well as Durham itself, the largest of these are Brandon, Coxhoe, Bowburn, Framwellgate Moor, Sherburn and Ushaw Moor. The seat extends as far west as Waterhouses and as far east as Ludworth.

Much of that was forged in the era of the third marquess. On 8 February 1915, the collieries were inherited from the sixth marquess by his thirty-six-year-old son, Charles Stewart Henry Vane-Tempest-Stewart.
