Hace 5 días · Historian Edward Gregg dismissed the rumours as ungrounded, as her father was essentially exiled from court, and the Hanoverians planned to marry George to his first cousin Sophia Dorothea of Celle as part of a scheme to unite the Hanoverian inheritance. Other rumours claimed she was courted by Lord Mulgrave, although he denied it.

23 de abr. de 2024 · His mother, Sophie-Amalie of Brunswick- Lüneburg, was part of the same family which founded the Hanoverian dynasty in Britain. On that side, Christian was first cousin to both the future George I, and his wife Sophia Dorothea of Celle, who were themselves first cousins.
