Hace 2 días · Etymology. The origin of the word Andorra is unknown, although several hypotheses have been proposed. The oldest is one put forward by the Greek historian Polybius (The Histories III, 35, 1), who describes the Andosins, an Iberian Pre-Roman tribe, as historically located in the valleys of Andorra and facing the Carthaginian army in its passage through the Pyrenees during the Punic Wars.

Hace 2 días · The RAF was founded on 1 April 1918 (during World War I) by the amalgamation of the Royal Flying Corps(RFC) and the Royal Naval Air Service(RNAS), as recommended in a report prepared by Jan Smuts.[16] At that time it was the largest air force in the world.[16] Its headquarters was located in the former Hotel Cecil.
