Spencer Perceval (born Nov. 1, 1762, London, Eng.—died May 11, 1812, London) was a lawyer, politician, and British prime minister from 1809 until his assassination in 1812. The second son of the 2nd Earl of Egmont, Perceval was educated at Harrow and at Trinity College, Cambridge.

12 de may. de 2024 · On May 11, 1812, Spencer Perceval, the United Kingdom's Prime Minister from 1809 to 1812, was shot and killed in the House of Commons lobby by John Bellingham. Perceval holds the unfortunate distinction of being the only British prime minister assassinated in office.
