9 de sept. de 2022 · Sri Aurobindo’s died in 1950 but his legacy was continued by The Mother, and now in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram (made a charity in 1955), and his many writings. Both were laid to rest in the grounds of the Ashram and Śrī Aurobindo and The Mother remain the spiritual head of the Ashram unlike other guru traditions.
There Sri Aurobindo was a brilliant scholar, winning record marks in the Classical Tripos examination. But he had already been touched by a will for the Independence of India, and did not wish to become an official of the colonial administration - the position his father and his education had marked him out for.
