[1] It is a member of the Girls' Schools Association. It was named 2015 " Public School of the Year" at the annual Tatler Schools Awards. [2]
The Seven Houses. The school remains inspired to this day by the aims and mission of Mary Ward, the founder of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which established St Mary’s School in Ascot in 1885. The school’s houses are all named after women who were members of the Institute in its earliest days, including Mary Ward herself.

St Mary’s School Ascot is a Roman Catholic boarding school founded by the Religious of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary. St Mary’s today is a self-governing, self-financing school. Founded in 1885, the school is set in 55 acres within easy reach of London and Heathrow and close to the M4, M3 and M25 motorways.
