Stephen van Rensselaer II (June 2, 1742 – October 19, 1769) was the sixth and youngest child of Stephen van Rensselaer I and Elizabeth Groesbeck. He served as Lord of the Manor of Rensselaerswyck.

This large entrance hall, installed in Gallery 752, was originally part of an impressive Georgian mansion built by Stephen Van Rensselaer II (1742–1769) and his wife, Catharine Livingston Van Rensselaer (1745–1810). Constructed between 1765 and 1768, the house was situated on bluffs overlooking the Hudson River.

Stefan Bielinski. Stephen Van Rensselaer II was baptized in the Albany Dutch church in June 1742. He was the sixth and last child of Patroon Stephen Van Rensselaer and his wife, Elizabeth Groesbeck. With the death of his father in 1747, this sole surviving son was ordained to become lord of the manor of Rensselaerswyck at the age of five!
