Stowe School is a public school (English fee-charging boarding and day school) for pupils aged 13–18 in Stowe, England. It opened on 11 May 1923, initially with 99 schoolboys, and with J. F. Roxburgh as the first headmaster.

Stowe School is 100 years old in 2023. But how did it become a school for 900 pupils from its original use as a ducal palace for one family? We'll look at the events from 1889 to 1923 from the decline of a leading aristocratic family to the creation of a new public school before modern times paved the way for modernisation.
What is Stowe School like? Stowe occupies one of the most magnificent sites of any boarding school in the UK, centred on the incredibly imposing main building, the former home of the Duke of Buckingham, with vast sweeping vistas across the Buckinghamshire countryside.
