The Rite of Spring [n 1] (French: Le Sacre du printemps) is a ballet and orchestral concert work by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. It was written for the 1913 Paris season of Sergei Diaghilev 's Ballets Russes company; the original choreography was by Vaslav Nijinsky with stage designs and costumes by Nicholas Roerich.

The 1945 revision is used for the performance of the "L'Oiseau de Feu" Suite and in both ballets, the playing of the Columbia Symphony Orchestra is marvellous. The DSD remastering has been superbly carried out and the stereo-only sound has remarkable clarity and spaciousness with the sense of a "real" orchestra being in front of the listener.
