Summer Fields started its long history as a school in 1864 with seven pupils (nine if we count the Maclarens' daughters). Rapid expansion meant more masters, two of whom married the Maclarens' daughters: the Revd Dr Charles Williams married Mabel in 1879, and the Revd Hugh Alington Margaret in 1885.
Summer Fields School has developed on the pillars of the initiative and the challenge and we are proud to say that it is represented today as a means of constructive and effective learning with high professional standards, which allows each child to achieve its optimal potential. However, a school is not simply a formal learning place.
