Svante Nilsson ( c. 1460 - 2 de enero de 1512) fue un noble sueco y regente de Suecia desde 1504 hasta el 2 de enero de 1512. Fue el padre de Sten Sture el Joven (1493-1520), quien luego se desempeñó como regente de Suecia, durante la era de la Unión de Kalmar.
Tras la muerte en 1503 de Sten Sture, Svante Nilsson le sucedió como regente y resistió los intentos daneses de reconquista. La guerra se intensificó en 1509 cuando los hanseáticos, y especialmente la ciudad de Lübeck, se aliaron con los suecos y les ayudaron a apoderarse de las fortalezas danesas de Kalmar y de Borgholm, propiedad de los daneses.

Svante Nilsson ( c. 1460 – 2 January 1512) was a Swedish nobleman and regent of Sweden from 1504 to 1512. He was the father of Sten Sture the Younger (1493–1520), who later served as regent of Sweden during the era of the Kalmar Union .

Sture was born in 1493, as the son of Svante Nilsson (regent of Sweden) and Iliana Gisladotter Gädda, heiress of Ulvåsa . At the death of his father, regent Svante, Sture was only 18 years old. High Councillor Eric Trolle was chosen as regent by the High Council. He supported the union with Denmark.
