Hace 18 horas · The term apostle as used in Church history. Throughout the history of the Church the term apostle has been applied to people who brought the Gospel to new areas. Sometimes Mary Magdalene is called the Apostle to the Apostles because she was at the empty tomb and proclaimed the good news of the resurrection to the surviving eleven apostles.
Hace 18 horas · On this day, the Church commemorates the Apostle Thomas, one of the twelve disciples of Christ, called Doubting Thomas because he doubted the Resurrection. When the rumor of the Lord's body disappearing from the cave spread, Thomas alone did not believe in the miracle and asked for proof - to touch Jesus' wounds from being nailed to the cross.
