Thierry, Count of Flanders. Theoderic ( Dutch: Diederik, French: Thierry, German: Dietrich; c. 1099 – 17 January 1168), commonly known as Thierry of Alsace, was the fifteenth count of Flanders from 1128 to 1168.

He contested the county of Flanders with William Clito on the death of Charles the Good in 1127.

Thierry of Flanders (Latin: Theodoricus de Flandria, Old French: Tyerri de Flandres) was a Flemish nobleman and crusader active in 1197–1207. Thierry was the illegitimate son of Count Philip I of Flanders and thus the first cousin of Count Baldwin IX of Flanders , whose mother, Margaret , was Philip's sister.

Born as the youngest son of Duke Theoderic II of Lorraine and Gertrude of Flanders, he was a man with strong ties to the region, which he would eventually come to rule.
