15 de may. de 2024 · In 1785 Thomas Anson's nephew and heir, George Anson, bought the old house next door, No. 16. (fn. 21) In 1789 he died and in the following year his son Thomas (who was created Viscount Anson in 1806) pulled No. 16 down, (fn. 13) immediately before embarking on elaborate embellishments to No. 15.
Hace 6 días · He inherited the Earldom of Lichfield in 1960 from his paternal grandfather. In his professional practice he was known as Patrick Lichfield. Thomas Patrick John Anson was born on 25 April 1939. He was the only son of Thomas William Arnold Anson, 4th Earl of Lichfield (1883–1960).
Hace 1 día · Capping declined in Lichfield as elsewhere in the later 16th century, but the city had over 70 tailors in 1634. Metal working was extensive. The smiths' company was recorded in 1601, with a wide range of craftsmen. The range increased in the 17th century, and in 1648 the company had 95 members.
Hace 6 días · Viscount Anson was succeeded in 1818 by his son Thomas William (Earl of Lichfield in 1831) who was holding the 'manor' in 1829 and an estate of some 445 acres in and around the town c. 1842. (fn. 274) The property was all sold between 1895 and 1938.
