Major General Thomas Gage was commander-in-chief of British forces in North America and governor of Massachusetts Bay during some of the most chaotic years of the American Revolution. Born in late 1719 or early 1720, Gage attended Westminster School in central London from 1728 to 1736.

His aggressive actions against the colonists contributed to the hostilities between the American colonies and the United Kingdom and serve as a direct cause of the American Revolutionary War .

Thomas Gage nasce nel Sussex nel 1719 (o nei primi mesi del 1720), secondo figlio del Primo Visconte di Gage.
