Thomas Garth According to some publications, Thomas Garth was born in 1740 in Surrey, England, the eldest son of John Garth, of Louisa County, Virginia. However, John, was already in Virginia by 1733. Thomas married Judith Bocock, daughter of Salem Bobcock and Susannah Bow (e) of Louisa County, Virginia, about 1761.
