American Revolutionary War Northwest Indian War. Thomas Posey (July 9, 1750 – March 19, 1818) was an officer in the American Revolution, a general during peacetime, the third Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky, Governor of the Indiana Territory, and a Louisiana Senator.

POSEY, Thomas, soldier and last territorial governor of Indiana (1813-16), was. born on the Potomac, in Virginia, July 9, 1750. His mother was Elizabeth Lloyd, of a family of high social standing, but except that little is known of his origin. He is said to have been the natural son of George Washington.1.
